The Capitol 400 will have a number of railroads open for your viewing enjoyment on Saturday and Sunday. To make it easier for those heading east and south on their way home, we will have layouts open to the north and west of the host hotel on Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4pm. On Sunday, from 10:30am to 5pm unless otherwise noted on the layout description in your program, many of those layouts will be joined by others in all directions to allow you to see as many layouts as possible.
There will be heavily scenicked layouts, layouts just getting started that may give you some ideas for your own construction, and everything in between. Both Rail and Non-rail registrants are invited to visit the layouts. All layout maps will be included in the Capitol 400 program booklet. You must wear your badge when visiting the layouts.
Over 25 layouts will be open for your viewing enjoyment. All layout descriptions, directions and tour times will be included in the program you will receive at the Registration Desk. Some layouts west and north of the hotel will be open Saturday afternoon beginning at 1pm until 4pm. Please help the layout owners and crews have ample time to get to the hotel for the banquet by departing your last layout at 4pm.
On Sunday, many of these same layouts and others located throughout the Madison area will be open beginning at 10:30am. NOT ALL LAYOUTS WILL OPEN THAT EARLY. Be sure to check the listing for each layout to determine their opening and closing times.
